A. We do, but GIS students would be given priority should there not be enough spaces to accommodate everyone, simply because GIS is very generous in supporting Scouting.
Q. Do you have any special weekend activities?
A. We usually have 2-3 weekend activities per term, one of which is normally a 2 night camp. We just can't fit all the activities into 1-1.5 hours on a Wednesday afternoon so need occasional Saturdays or Sundays in order to complete all the badge requirements.

A. There is a termly fee of RM280 per Cub/Scout, and RM240 for Beavers plus a one-off payment for new members of RM70 for uniform (RM20 for Scouts who buy their formal uniform themselves from Professor). A. We offer places at the start of every term according to availability. Places are offered to current members first, members transferring from other UK Scout Groups, siblings, children of leaders/section assistants, then we offer from the waiting list according to date of application. It may, therefore take some time before your child is offered a place, but one will be offered as soon as they are eligible, and we have space available.

A. Scouting is not a CCA though we are very grateful that GIS allows us to use their facilities. All our applications and financing are done separate from GIS so we do not come under their CCA umbrella.
Q. What are the fees used for?
A. We have to pay membership to UK Scouting in order to be covered by their insurance, and have access to their resources. We also subscribe to an online management system to keep our members informed, we purchase resources for the weekly meetings and the camps, such as paints, cleaning equipment, tents, cooking equipment, etc. We are a not-for-profit organisation so all fees paid are pooled back into Scouting.
Q. Who runs Scouting?
A. Scouting is run entirely by volunteers who are mostly parents of Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. They are all enthusiastic, and passionate about Scouting as an organisation that provides life skills for children of all ages. We do need help from parents to keep Scouting running smoothly, especially when we are off-site or on camps, and really appreciate the parents that step forward at these times to offer their time.
Q. What should I do if my child can't make a meeting?
A. Please inform the Section Leader via a PRIVATE message (do not use the WhatsApp chat group). If your child misses 3 consecutive meetings without consultation or notice to the Section Leader, then their place will be forfeit to the next person on the waiting list.
Q. Do I have to register my child each term?
